The meftal tablet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (nsaid). It works by inhibiting the action of chemical messengers in the brain responsible for pain, fever, and inflammation (redness and swelling). Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients Inflammatory bowel disease History of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, related to previous nsaids therapy Active, or history of recurrent peptic ulcer/haemorrhage Severe heart failure, hepatic failure and renal failure Asthma Bronchospasm Rhinitis Angioedema Urticaria During the last trimester of pregnancy Treatment of pain after coronary artery bypass graft (cabg) surgery.
Babies: Not applicable.
Lactating mothers: Meftal tablet is considered safe to use during breastfeeding.
Human studies state that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk and is not harmful to the baby.

However, there are limited studies in humans, and animal studies state that the drug has shown harmful effects on the developing baby.

Driving: It is unsafe to drive while taking this medication.
It may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy.
Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Alcohol: It is unsafe to consume alcohol along with this tablet.
Liver: Meftal tablets should be used with caution in patients with liver disease.
Dose adjustment of this medication is required in patients.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible.
If it is near the time of the next dose, then skip the missed dose.
Take the prescribed dose on your regular time daily.
Don't double the dose to catch up with the missed dose..
• To avoid stomach upset, take the medication with food or milk • It can cause severe complications like stomach bleeding and kidney problems if taken for a long time • Meftal can increase your risk of blood clots, heart attack, or a stroke • Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding • Inform your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney or liver problems.
Contraindicated • Meftal + Ketorolac: Concurrent use of these drugs either increases the toxicity of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism • Meftal + Ketorolac intranasal: Concurrent use of these drugs either increases the toxicity of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism Serious • Meftal + Captopril: Coadministration may result in a significant decrease in renal function. Nsaids may diminish the antihypertensive effect of ace inhibitors • Meftal + Methotrexate: Meftal increases levels of methotrexate by decreasing renal clearance • Meftal + Apixaban: Concurrent use of these drugs increases anticoagulation Monitor closely • Meftal + Chlorothiazide: Meftal increases and chlorothiazide decreases serum potassium • Meftal + Citalopram: Concurrent use of these drugs either increases the toxicity of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism • Meftal + Clopidogrel: Concurrent use of these drugs either increases the toxicity of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism.
