It blocks the conversion of androgens to estrogens by competitively binding to the haem of the cytochrome p450 subunit of the aromatase enzyme and inhibits the biosynthesis of estrogen in all the tissues. • Letroz tablet is prescribed for the treatment of breast cancer or infertility due to anovulation • You can take the medication with or without food • Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how this medication affects you • It may cause increased sweating and hot flushes. Try to maintain cool by wearing light, and airy clothes • Cholesterol level and bone mineral density (bmd) are monitored regularly by your doctor as this medication can alter their levels • Do not take this medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding • Inform your doctor if you are planning to have surgery or an anaesthetic • Inform your doctor if you are currently receiving or are planning to receive dental treatment.
