Ans: Carnimac tablets are not steroids. It contains carnimac, a type of protein (made from the amino acids lysine and methionine). It helps transport fat to cells, where it is metabolized to produce energy. It is used to treat primary and secondary carnimac deficiency.
2. When can carnitine deficiency occur?
Ans: There are two types of carnitine deficiency, primary and secondary. The main ones are genetic and can show symptoms up to the age of five. Meanwhile, it can be secondary to certain conditions such as kidney problems (chronic kidney failure) and the use of antibiotics that decrease its absorption and increase its excretion.
