Ascoril syrup is an antitussive agent used to temporarily relieve cough caused by the common cold, flu or other conditions by decreasing the feeling of needing to cough. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible.
If it is near the time of the next dose, then skip the missed dose.
Take the prescribed dose on your regular time daily.

• It is advised to drink plenty of fluids that may help to loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while taking this medication.
• It should not be given to patients suffering from a chronic cough or where excessive secretions accompany the cough.
• Inform your doctor if your cough persists more than seven days, comes back or occurs with fever, rash or headache.

Ans: Ascoril is an antitussive but not a steroid, antihistamine, opiate, nsaid or narcotic, but it may have additive effects if it is taken in larger doses than recommended. It does not contain codeine or alcohol.
2. Does ascoril work & how much dextromethorphan can I take for cough?
